Travelling with Children Onboard Hull Trains
Children Under 5 Go Free
Up to 2 children under the age of 5 can accompany each fare paying passenger free of charge in Standard Class and First Class and can only occupy a seat if it is not required by a passenger who has paid for their fare. Children must vacate their seat if a fare paying passenger requires it. If you want to ensure your child has their own seat for the journey, you can book a child fare for them by booking on our website or app and adding a child passenger.
Don't forget, all children between the ages of 5 and 15 are entitled to a discount of at least 50% on most full adult fares.
2FOR1 Offers When you go by Train
Take advantage of money-saving 2 for 1 London offers when you travel by train. With over 150+ attractions, restaurants, theatres, exhibitions and more to choose from, it's perfect for summer holidays and school half terms.
Our top picks are...
• Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Book Early and Reserve Seats
Be sure to book early and make seat reservations in advance so you can reserve seats together.
When booking a seat, it is a good idea to be near to a toilet. All of our toilets onboard have a Baby Changing facility, and the toilets in carriages A & E have more space. View our Seating Plan to find the perfect seats for you and your family.
Breast Feeding on Board
Feel free to breast feed while you are on board. If you require a quieter area, please speak to one of our On Board Managers. We also have Priority Seats on board which have extra legroom – view our seating plan to locate these seats and use our Seat Picker when booking a Hull Trains service direct to choose one of these seats if needed.
If you need bottled milk warming up, we’ll be more than happy to do this, so please speak to our On Board Manager or On Board Host.
Travelling With Luggage
If you’re travelling with larger or heavy luggage items, we have just the solution. We have partnered with Carry My Luggage who provide door-to-door luggage delivery services throughout Great Britain. This chargeable service makes travel easier, and you don’t have to worry about carrying heavy luggage around with you.
Hull Trains passengers receive a 10% discount when they click on the link above or may also use promo code HT101 when booking directly at carrymyluggage.com.
Food on Board
There is a complimentary refreshment service in First Class and we do offer First Class upgrades on our services on weekdays and weekends, which are subject to availability. Find out more about First Class.
We now offer an at-seat trolley service of hot and cold drinks, refreshments and snacks in Standard Class. This is a cashless service and all major debit and credit cards are accepted. See our menu and more details.
Pushchairs & Prams
You are welcome to bring a pram on board, but they must be collapsed and stored safely in the luggage storage areas at all times. Prams must not block any doorways or aisles or be stored in the dedicated wheelchair user spaces. Sleeping babies & toddlers must travel on an adult’s lap.
Safety on Board
Supervise your young children as they move through the carriages as trains can move from side to side suddenly. Help us reduce accidents on board by ensuring they keep their fingers away from the sliding internal doors and clear of the external doors when they are closing.
