TICKET TYPES
Advance Single
Single tickets that offer great savings if you can plan ahead and travel on a specific train
- Book up 26 weeks before the date of travel up to the day before
- Mix and match fares for outward and return journeys
- Usually the most affordable ticket option with the least flexibility
- Non-refundable, although date and time of travel can be changed for a £10 fee
- Sign up for a Cheap Ticket Alert to be notified when the best fares are available
Hull Leisure Return
A discounted return ticket for use on Hull Trains services only
- Available on the Hull Trains website, app and at station ticket offices
- Travel on any Hull Trains service
- Travel to Hull from Grantham, Retford, Doncaster, Selby, Howden and Brough
- Additional routes have been added to include: Howden - Selby, Doncaster - Retford, Doncaster - Grantham, Grantham - Retford
- Hull Leisure Return tickets are valid in both directions
- Return on any Hull Trains service within 1 calendar month of the date printed on the outward ticket
- Or choose your return service at the time of booking

Advance Purchase on the Day
Advance purchase on the day tickets are last minute tickets that allow you to book cheap on the day fares so you can get onboard, on the day, for less than you think.
- Book on the day of departure up to 15 minutes before the train leaves
- Mix and match fares for outward and return journeys
- Non-refundable, although date and time of travel can be changed for a £10 fee
Anytime Single
A fully flexible ticket valid on any train
- Book any time up to just before you board
- Travel at any time on the date printed on the ticket, or on the following day
- Certain tickets only allow you to travel with a certain train company or via a certain route - check carefully!
Anytime Return
A fully flexible ticket valid on any train
- Book any time up to just before you board
- Outward travel on any train within five days of the date printed on the ticket
- Return on any train within 1 calendar month of the date printed on the outward ticket (expiry dates are usually printed on the return portion of the ticket)
- Certain tickets only allow you to travel with a certain train company or via a certain route - check carefully!
Anytime Day Single / Return
A fully flexible ticket valid on any train
- Book any time up to just before you board
- Valid on any train on the date printed on the ticket
- Certain tickets only allow you to travel with a certain train company or via a certain route - check carefully!
Flexi Tickets
A fully flexible ticket valid on any Hull Trains service
- Travel on any Hull Trains service, 7 days a week
- Purchase a book of 10 Flexi Tickets and use within 12 months
- Flexi Tickets are only available to book via our Business Travel team
- Date your ticket and travel on any Hull Trains service that day
- Available to book in both First and Standard Class
Off-Peak Single / Return / Day Return
A flexible ticket valid only at off-peak times
- Off Peak tickets are valid all day on bank holidays
- Travel any time on weekends, and outside of the peak travel times on Monday to Thursday
- Until further notice, we've lifted peak time restrictions on Fridays so you can travel for less throughout the entire day on Fridays
- Hull Trains only Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 06:05 Hull Trains service from Beverley / 06:26 Hull Trains service from Hull to London King’s Cross
- Hull Trains only Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 15:48 Hull Trains service from London King’s Cross to Beverley
- Hull Trains only and Any Permitted Off Peak tickets differ in validity, please enquire if you have an Any Permitted Off Peak ticket and you are unsure
- For full restriction information on your booked ticket, visit the National Rail Enquiries website and search the 2-digit code displayed on your ticket
Super Off-Peak Single / Return
Similar to and cheaper than off-peak, but with less flexibility on when you can travel
- Off Peak tickets are valid all day on bank holidays
- Travel any time on weekends, and outside of the peak travel times on Monday to Thursday
- Until further notice, we've lifted peak time restrictions on Fridays so you can travel for less throughout the entire day on Fridays
- Outward travel on the date printed on the ticket and return within one calendar month from the date printed on the ticket
- Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 06:05/06:26 & 07:53/08:23 Hull Trains services from Beverley/Hull
- Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 07:27, 15:48 & 18:48 Hull Trains services from London King’s Cross
- Hull Trains only and Any Permitted Super Off Peak tickets differ in validity, please enquire if you have an Any Permitted Super Off Peak ticket and you are unsure

Season Tickets
Ideal for daily commuters, offering unlimited travel between two selected points
- At any time up to just before you board
- On any train between the dates printed on the ticket
- Certain tickets only allow you to travel with a certain train company or via a certain route – check your ticket!
Open Return
Keep your travel plans flexible with an open return
- Although not an official ticket type, an open return is a way of booking a return journey without specifying your return travel date/time
- Book any time up to just before you board
- Valid for the date specified on the ticket or up to one calendar month from the date on the ticket
- Certain tickets only allow you to travel with a certain train company or via a certain route - check carefully!
- Ticket types available as open returns include: Anytime Return, Off Peak Day Return, Off Peak Return, Super Off Peak Return, Hull Leisure Return
