21 YEARS OF HULL TRAINS
September 2000 - First Services Leaves King’s Cross
In September 2000, the first Hull Trains service headed Hull bound after departing London King’s Cross station. In the first year of operation, 3 daily Hull Trains services carried 80,000 passengers to their destination marking the importance of a direct rail service connecting the Humber region to the capital.
2005 - 1 Millionth Passenger Carried
In 2005, we reached the impressive milestone of 1 million passengers carried on a Hull Trains service. As an Open Access operator, 1 million journeys across the Hull Trains route in the first 5 years of operation highlighted how our rail services between Hull and London King’s Cross were appreciated by many.
2017 - Named Best UK Train Operator
In 2017, Hull Trains was named the Best UK Train Operator by the National Rail Passenger Survey after scoring a huge 97% satisfaction for service which was 8% higher than the average long distance operator. Although just a small rail operator, Hull Trains set the standards high and continue to do so on board every service.
2019 - First Paragon Service to London
In 2019, we welcomed the first of our Paragon fleet into passenger service. As part of a £60 million investment, the state-of-the-art Hitachi trains brough vast improvements to travel after replacing the entire old fleet of Class 180s. Journeys are smoother, quieter and greener, and 20% more seats are now available for passengers travelling to and from the capital.
2021 - Hull Trains Turns 21

Whether you’re travelling for leisure or meeting up with loved ones, you can count on Hull Trains to get you there.
