Train travel is usually pretty simple: you buy a ticket, take your seat, and the train takes you from A to B. You may eat a bag of crisps during the journey if you're feeling adventurous, or even pop to the toilet. What you probably don't expect is to share the carriage with a giant tomato, Star Wars characters, or a bunch of man-sized babies wearing crowns. Or perhaps you do, in which case you should be proud of leading such a unique and varied life.
Here are ten examples of odd things that people have spotted on trains. Some are funny, some are very creative, and some are just plain bewildering.
1. The Empire Rides Back
There are worse things than having Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers on your train. C3PO, for instance, would be far more irritating.
2: Baby on board
Won't lie, this one is creepy. The only thing that would make it more uncomfortable is if they needed their nappies changing.
3: It's a uh
This looks like something that would result if the makers of Pokemon went into the fashion business. Whatever it's supposed to be, it clashes terribly with the bag.
4: Seeing red
You say to-may-toh. I say to-mah-toh. The automatic announcement ignores the situation and simply says mind the gap.
5: Who you gonna call?
A welcome sight if you've inadvertently boarded a ghost train, but for goodness sake don't cross the streams!
6: Perfectly placed
This photographer has a steady hand, otherwise it would have been close encounters of the blurred kind.
7: Impossible to ignore
Is there anything more annoying than having a saxophonist suddenly begin playing beside your ear?
8: Taking the green line
The admiration you get for including bases around the feet of your plastic army man costume makes missing your stop totally worth it.
9: Meep meep!
Even the superfast Roadrunner takes the train from time to time. Looks like Wile E. Coyote is drawing up one of his hare-brained schemes again, so watch out for TNT and giant catapults.
10: A blue streak
Just when you thinking you're making good time, Sonic the Hedgehog rushes past your window without even breaking a sweat. How rude.
