Driffield station opened in 1846, which coincided with the line from Hull to Bridlington, making it ideal for passengers wanting to travel towards the northern coastal towns and resorts. There are two platforms with frequent services heading towards Doncaster and Sheffield as well as Bridlington and Scarborough. Driffield is known as being a thriving market town and the Capital of the Yorkshire Wolds, given it is the largest town in this area. Located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Driffield was founded in the Saxon period.
