About Hull Trains

Established in September 2000, to offer a direct service between Hull, The Humber region and London, the success of First Hull Trains has been in predicting demand as well as providing outstanding customer service.

The company now carries around 670,000 passengers each year and operates seven direct services between Hull and London King's Cross, Monday to Friday, with five each way on Saturdays and Sundays. The fastest weekday schedule between Hull and London is 2 hours and 32 minutes.

During the summer of 2005 the company launched four new state of the art Pioneer class 222 trains at a cost of £36 million, and now offer even higher standards of passenger comfort and catering on-board in both Standard Class and First Class carriages.

However the investment did not stop there and since the arrival of the new trains the company has listened closely to customer feedback and during the summer months of 2006 for example introduced extra luggage space on-board as well as extending the First Class seating capacity from 22 to 33 seats.

New catering suppliers have also been sourced and again an improved and extended range of refreshments are now available on-board. For example at the end of 2007 a new vintner was engaged to supply a range of good quality wines on-board and early customer feedback has proven extremely positive about this appointment.

Two class 180 Adelante trains will be added into the fleet during late 2008 to provide extra seating capacity and additional contingency to supplement the class 222's.

Performance, punctuality and safety are key words within the company and the team at First Hull Trains constantly strive to exceed everyone's expectations.

With many repeat customers using the service on a regular basis the company is hoping to increase its frequency of services over the next few years but is also looking to constantly improve its all- round level of service.
